YES! MyGenx® processes all of your genetic testing in our state-of-the-art genetic testing facility. We have complete control of the sample and laboratory report. By law, we can only release your report to you or your provider with your permission.

Our tests are not currently covered by insurance.

We try to offer competitive pricing.

If you need help, there is a not-for-profit foundation, Know Now DNA, that might be able to help with the cost of the test if you meet their coverage criteria. https://www.knownowdna.org/

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”What is Genetic Addiction Risk testing (GARS®)? ” open=”no”]

GARS® is a test that reveals gene mutations within a person’s DNA. These mutations identify whether a person is more susceptible to RDS behaviors, including addiction. Results can be helpful to alert people of at-risk environments that could trigger addictive behaviors or in personalizing a recovery treatment.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Why is dopamine so essential?” open=”no”]

Dopamine mediates how we experience pleasure, reward, joy, and contentment. Dopamine ascribes “salience” to behaviors directly connected to our species-centered survival drive, e.g., eating, hydration, and copulation to name a few. Recent research shows that perhaps as many as 30 percent of the U.S. population have a genetically acquired “dopamine deficiency” and thus are at increased “risk” for developing addictive disease or other debilitating brain disorders including depression, anxiety disorder, ADHD, stress-related disorders, sexual compulsions, pathological gambling, hedonic overeating, obesity, and more.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”How do we perform genetic tests?” open=”no”]

A simple, non-invasive buccal swab (cheek swab). The specimen collection will be performed by gently rubbing a swab inside of each cheek and gums for a total of 30 seconds. After DNA is collected, you will place the swab back in a plastic vial. Then the vial will be sent via FedEx to the MyGenx® lab to be processed.

[/fusion_toggle][fusion_toggle title=”Why is this just now becoming available?” open=”no”]

This DNA testing is a collection of over 30 years of research and science. We have reached the point where technology has caught up with science making these tests reliable and affordable. The highest standards for testing, consistency, safety, and confidentiality are delivered to each patient through MyGenx®.
